Community Engagement Projects

Over the past years, we have run a series of intergenerational projects contenting the community in creative and playful interaction! Funded by The National Lottery, The Peoples Health Trust, Humber Learning Consortium, Hull City Council, The Goodwin Development Trust, and Arts Council England.

The Forget-Me-Not Group recording a radio play for the station! written and produced and preformed by them all.

Collaborating with Back to Ours, and Hull Bullnose Heritage Group we have engaged the participants in a series of brilliant events over this time, giving the community a voice and creating meaningful and truly local content for the station.

Shindig fun with Back To Ours! (and Elvis)

In 2022 our Shout out Radio project gave access to broadcasting and digital media to the youth of West Hull, teaching practical skills and techniques to producing and presenting their own radio show. This project is about casting out the net into the local community in search of new presenters and give them access to take their first steps into radio and the wider world of digital media.

The ambition for the project is to create a team from a group of young people who are from the same community, but paths had never crossed, and build a sense of understanding, trust, and confidence through creative actions.

The project is funded by The National Lottery community fund See here for more photos
