My radio bug started in 1975 on Forces Radio both here and in Germany. Once out of the services I went to Hospital Radio in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds becoming Studio Manager at Bury St Edmunds. After  a while job commitments made it difficult to continue so the radio life fell away until I retuned to Hull where I joined Kingston Hospital Radio until it had to move due to Covid. I came to West Hull FM as I was told you may have lost the desk but you still have  voice, which incidentally still talks squit

Richard Moore

I joined WHCR as station engineer and presenter in 2022. I grew up in West Hull before leaving to study at University in the North East. During that time I did on air shifts at a couple of ILR stations, and have always remained keen on the industry

We all know that times are very different for radio, and I am keen to help support local community programming that is not from Leeds, Manchester, or indeed London.

I now live in the North West and work in IT but return to Hull frequently to visit family. It’s a pleasure to be working on radio once again in my home City.
