Steve Smith

After  a while job commitments made it difficult to continue so the radio life fell away until I retuned to Hull where I joined Kingston Hospital Radio until it had to move due to Covid. I came to West Hull FM as I was told you may have lost the desk but you still have  voice, which incidentally still talks squit. Born and raised in Hull, I started my radio dream with the original WHCR editing Barry Robinsons interviews and putting them onto the system. I then moved onto hospital radio where I did my training and completed a probationary period, i produced and presented my own shows for around 4 years but then due to work commitments I had to abandon this. During this time I had the urge to do radio again and along came West Hull FM which I am now proud to call my home. I also enjoy photography and reading and I am also an NHS Volunteer Responder and a cardiac arrest responder. Catch me on Drivetime every Monday 4-6pm where I bring you traffic and travel, great music, where in Hull am I the 5pm anthem and the drivetime duo. I also do The Love Zone on a Tuesday from 9pm – 10pm

Phillip Codling

I first joined West Hull FM in 2018 at the old Darley’s premises. I wrote/presented shows with a highlight period being a 5 part David Bowie series that had some remarkable, most memorable music. Stayed until March 2020 and left due to you know what. Decided the time was right to get back into it this summer after everything and I’m immensely pleased to be back at the new look & new HQ West Hull FM, having a much more involved role this time around. I’ve even got my old spot back. Super people here. It’s fantastic . Despite all this, I still haven’t worked out Mark E. Smith!
